About the Event

Hello DAPS Community!

My name is Taylor Bass, a Doctoral Occupational Therapy student completing my capstone with DAPS. I’m excited to invite you to a 2-session community art project designed to bring individuals with Parkinson’s and their loved ones together to connect, create, and celebrate our DAPS community.

What is it?

  • Individuals with Parkinson's and their loved ones will attend 2 art sessions together. This can be with your partner, child, sibling, neighbor, or anyone who’s part of your support circle!

  • With support from local artists in the DAPS community, each group will create their own red tulip (the international symbol of Parkinson’s).

  • All tulips will be combined into one large “field of tulips” representing the strength and connection of our community.

  • The final piece will be presented at the Lifetime Achievement Award Luncheon on May 6th and displayed at community events around DFW.

No art experience needed!

All abilities are welcome. Support and adaptations will be provided so everyone can participate.

When:

  • March 23rd | 11am–12pm

  • March 30th | 11am–12pm

(Please plan to attend both sessions. If you can’t, reach out to Taylor Lyon at basst@livemail.uthscsa.edu and we’ll do our best to accommodate. When you register for Part 1, you will receive an email to register for Part 2).
