LEGACY GIVING

When you include Dallas Area Parkinson Society in your estate plans or give a legacy gift, you make it possible for us to honor our founder, Clarice Dougherty.  In 1978, her goal was to find resources and  community for her husband with Parkinson's disease.  What didn't exist in Dallas at the time has turned into thriving communities in Dallas, Denton, Carrollton, Garland, Duncanville, McKinney and Plano.  With your gift we can expand to more neighbors with Parkinson's disease.

DAPS understanda diagnosis is life changing for people with Parkinson's and for their care partners. We give the resources, education and provide supportive communities with people experiencing the same challenges. Exercise is the only known treatment that can slow the progression of Parkinson's disease. That is why DAPS focuses on offering more classes. For those who have progressed and find leaving home a challenge, we have Zoom classes so they can participate from their living room.

We are a growing presence, making a real difference in the lives of the 8,100 diagnosed with Parkinson's disease here in Dallas. Your gift would allow us to increase our services. Together we can make the Dallas area, an example of what true community looks like.  Let's change the landscape of Living Well with Parkinson's.
