Presentation Title: Apathy and Demoralization: The Role of Meaning in Life
Bio: Bradley McDaniels is an assistant professor and program coordinator for the Rehabilitation Studies program in the Department of Rehabilitation & Health Services at the University of North Texas. Brad’s research interests include apathy, meaning in life, resilience, post-traumatic growth, loneliness, demoralization, psychological flexibility, and intolerance of uncertainty in people with Parkinson’s disease.
Description: Both apathy and demoralization are common challenges associated with a PD diagnosis and can negatively affect quality of life. What is the role of meaning in life, and how can it be fostered? We will be delving into these topics to see what the literature says and clarify what patients can do to improve outcomes.
