DAPS's largest fundraising campaign is launched in April, coinciding with Parkinson's Awareness Month. 100% of the funds raised stay local, allowing us to support our neighbors effectively. Donations also help us raise awareness and understanding of Parkinson's disease. In 2024, DAPS reached over 1,700 individuals across North Texas in 38 locations.

DAPS understands that Parkinson's disease can affect individuals physically, emotionally, socially, and mentally. Comprehensive and easily accessible help is provided through exercise, support, and educational services in 9 locations and at no cost to participants.
The red tulip is the international symbol for Parkinson's disease, representing the brain's hemispheres. At DAPS, the tulip also embodies our core values: community, connection and compassion.
COMMUNITY
DAPS strengthened its community by adding a new exercise class in Carrollton, a Dance for PD® class in Dallas and most recently, a noncontact boxing class for people with PD.
CONNECTION
DAPS added a new location to host monthly Educational Series in Garland. For those new to Parkinson's, Educational Series offer new resources, information and connection with others.
COMPASSION
To better meet the changing needs of the Parkinson's community, DAPS added a virtual support group for care partners, led by an expert in the field of chronic illness. This allows individuals, regardless of their circumstances, to access a compassionate group without the challenge of transportation.
