DAPS's largest fundraising campaign is launched in April, coinciding with Parkinson's Awareness Month. 100% of the funds raised stay local, allowing us to support our neighbors effectively. Donations also help us raise awareness and understanding of Parkinson's disease. In 2025, Dallas Area Parkinson Society expanded its reach by increasing staff, welcoming interns, and launching the first Dallas Annual Walk for Parkinson’s, bringing together more than 350 members of our community in a powerful show of unity and support.
For individuals and families living with Parkinson’s disease, each day can bring new challenges. Yet within our community, we see something extraordinary every day—resilience, courage, and hope.
COMMUNITY
No one should face Parkinson’s disease alone. In 2025, DAPS exercise programs doubled, strengthening our LOCAL Parkinson’s community across Dallas, Denton, and Collin County.
Programs such as SouthPaws Non-Contact Boxing and Dance for PD continue to grow as more individuals experience the benefits of increased stamina and improved coordination.
When people come together, strength grows.
CONNECTION
Knowledge empowers those living with Parkinson’s.
In 2025, attendance at the Educational Series reached our highest levels ever. These events provide trusted information, expert guidance, and meaningful connection for individuals and families navigating Parkinson’s disease.
Because connection brings understanding—and understanding brings hope.
COMPASSION
Parkinson’s disease affects every person differently, but no one should walk the journey without support.
In 2025, two new support groups were added, one to serve the unique needs of women with PD and another designed for men with PD. Led by professional facilitators, these groups provide guidance, trusted resources, and a place where individuals can share experiences and encouragement.
Compassionate support changes lives.
